Deaths in Afghan suicide bombing

At least four people have been killed after a suicide bomber, who is believed to have been targeting a local police chief, detonated explosives in Musa Qala in southern Afghanistan.

The attacker ran at a police vehicle patrolling the town and exploded on impact, Mohammad Hussein Andiwal, the Helmand province police chief, said.
He told Al Jazeera that although he escaped the attack at a market on Sunday, four other policemen were wounded.

The attack comes a day after a Nato helicopter carrying the Helmand governor, Gulab Mangal, came under fire from Taliban as it was about to land in Musa Qala.
