Brendan Connor
Brendan Connor is a veteran broadcaster with over 20 years of experience including roles with Canada’s CBC Television, CBC Newsworld, CBC Radio and TSN.

Brendan has an extensive and varied career, from radio and television to web coverage of various Olympics. He has also written two sports books, produced a documentary on ski-racing and taught a graduate programme in broadcast journalism at a Toronto college.

The major sports events Connor has covered include: coverage of the Olympic Games in Athens (2004), Sydney (2000), Seoul (1988), Calgary (Winter 1988), the 1990 New Zealand Commonwealth Games, the Stanley Cup Finals, the World Series, the Super Bowl, the NBA Draft, All-Star game and the Finals.

For Sportsworld he has profiled the NBA MVP Steve Nash as well as reporting on American football, ice hockey, curling, tennis, the Cricket World Cup and the humanitarian sports group 'Right to Play'.

Carrie Brown brings a wide range of experience in news and sport from her roles with the UK’s British Eurosport, ITN, ITV and Five News.

As Chief Reporter at British Eurosport she anchored London's winning bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games, live from Singapore.

She also covered the 2005 World Superbike season, was a pitch-side reporter at Football’s Euro2004 and a reporter for Eurosport's weekly football magazine show Top 24.

She has also presented, produced and reported for British Eurosport's daily news bulletin and covered major events such as Six Nations Rugby, World Athletics Championships and both the Summer and Winter Olympics.

At ITN Carrie was lead reporter for ITV’s Morning News Bulletin and as a news producer filed reports for Five News. In her early career Carrie worked on the foreign desk of ITV’s well-known News at Ten.

Joanna Gasiorowska

Joanna Gasiorowska has a wide range of sports reporting experience forged with the UK’s ITN and with Sky Sports.

In her most recent role with ITN, Joanna was a sports reporter on ITV’s Evening News and presented daily sports news bulletins on the ITV News Channel.

During this time she filed stories on all the big stories in world sport and became a well-known face to UK television viewers.

At Sky Sports Joanna covered a wide range of sports including American football, golf, Premiership football, speedway and darts.

She also reported on major events such as the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Joanna is a golf and Formula One specialist, and an avid golfer – a passion which led to her playing in the 2005 BMW Open Pro-Am at Wentworth. She has also held roles in motor sport publishing.

Wayne Hay
Al Jazeera English’s Wayne Hay has extensive experience of both radio and television broadcasting with New Zealand’s TVNZ, IRN News, Radio Otago and at Prospect’s Hamilton-based channels. Wayne’s role as sports reporter for TVNZ’s One News took him around the world.

He covered the Athens Olympics, the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, the World Rowing Championships in Japan and the Indianapolis 500 in the US. Wayne has also covered countless All Black and football matches, cycling events, rowing regattas and tennis and golf tournaments.

Previously as a sports director with IRN news, Wayne led a team of journalists that covered national and international sports stories including the 1997 Hong Kong Rugby Sevens World Cup, the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, the 1999 Track Cycling World Champs in Berlin and the 2000 Olympics in Sydney for which he won a Qantas Media Award.

Sana Hamouche
Even before she joined Al Jazeera English, Sana Hamouche was already a familiar figure to television viewers in the Middle East. She was senior presenter on Dubai Sports channel, producing and presenting her own Arab-language show, in which she covered the major sporting events in the Gulf and interviewed its leading personalities.

She then moved to CNBC Arabia, where she combined the roles of news presenter and business reporter. Sana joined Al Jazeera English's sports team in November 2006, just before launch day, and has since become an integral part of that team.

Although fluent in written and spoken English, it is actually her third language, as Sana is equally proficient in Arabic and French.

Rahul Pathak

Rahul Pathak brings experience across broadcast sports journalism to Al Jazeera English.

He has held roles with the UK’s Five News, Meridian Broadcasting, ITN News Direct, Sunrise Radio, and with Australia’s SBS TV.

As a correspondent with Five News, Rahul filed stories on all the major domestic and international sports events and stories.

He also held roles with the network as a sports presenter, newsreader and news producer.

Prior to his role with Five News, Rahuk was a journalist, sports presenter and reporter at Meridian where he covered both regional and national sport.

With SBS TV in Sydney, he worked on a range of sports and shows including the Toyota World Sports programme.

With Sunrise Radio in the UK he presented news for Asian community and produced programmes including the daily current affairs show InFocus.

Andrew Richardson
Andrew Richardson brings a wide range of sports reporting experience drawn from his career with the UK’s Independent Television News (ITN), Sky News, ITV and Five News.

As Five News’s Sports Correspondent he covered many of the major events in world sport including the 2002 Football World Cup in Japan, the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia and 2004 European Football Championships in Portugal.

He also filed reports across this period for Five News’s parent company, Sky News.

With ITN in London, Andrew was a sports producer and reporter for ITV News, filing and producing stories on domestic and international sporting events.

He covered the 1999 Rugby World Cup and the 2000 European Football Championships with the network.
