Dozens killed in Yemen blast

Dozens of people have been killed in an explosion in Yemen.

The blast occured near a mosque in the Saada region on Friday.

Medical sources in the area said that at least 100 people have been wounded.
There are conflicting reports regarding the cause of the explosion.

Some witnesses said a minibus parked outside the mosque exploded, while others said the blast was caused by a booby-trapped motorcycle.
The blast came as people were leaving the Bin Salman mosque after Friday prayers.

An Al Jazeera correspondent said the Imam of the mosque was the most likely target of the blast. He is also a military leader in the area.

Saada province, situated in northwest Yemen, has been the site of a rebellion by members of the Zaidi community, a Shia group, that has killed thousands of people since 2004.
