Biography: Richard Gizbert
Richard Gizbert has a long and accomplished career as a foreign correspondent covering many parts of the globe.
Over the past 25 years, he has covered stories in more than 50 countries on five continents.
Richard spent 11 years with the American network ABC, as one of the network's London-based foreign correspondents.
During this time he covered conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Somalia and Rwanda.

He has extensive experience in the Middle East, having covered Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian occupied territories and Israel.
Richard has also reported on earthquakes in India, the Kursk submarine disaster off Russia, development stories in Africa, and countless stories in western Europe.
His experience provides Richard with the kind of perspective al Jazeera values in its correspondents.

Prior to being based in London, Richard worked as a correspondent-producer for CJOH-TV in Canada, where he was CJOH's parliamentary correspondent, responsible for national political coverage.
