Just like Hollywood the Indian movie moguls can put out any version they like and the masses, just like in the west will believe it to be true. Is this not what modern India is all about-copying the master in everything. Non Hindu minorities in India especially Muslims feel disenfranchised and under siege from the Hindu extremists and there is the continued Indian hostility with Pakistan over Kashmir. On top of this India is now fully engaged in war on terror. All in all I am not very optimistic about the future as some of the others here appear to be. There is tendency to blame others, the colonials and neighbours when the problem and solutions lie at home.

From recent BBC news: “India's government is under pressure to respond following a minister's controversial remarks over the killing of top officers [investigating suspected Hindu radical attacks] in the Mumbai attacks. Rights group Amnesty International has criticised India's proposed new anti-terror laws [can lead to abusive practices]. The government of India's Maharashtra state has announced an investigation into two senior policemen over alleged failure to prevent the Mumbai attacks. Two suspected militants [Indian nationals Fahim Ansari and Sabauddin] have appeared in court in Mumbai amid an investigation into whether they scouted for those who attacked the city.” There are so many questions and so few answers. What are the current ‘conspiracy theories’? Who might the ‘masterminds’ of these attacks be? Who stands to benefit most from actions already being undertaken? Will Muslim Indians be subject of ‘racial profiling’ now?

In India today one official minster has questioned the legality of the killing of the chief anti terrorism official in Mumbai, and there has been an uproar in the Indian parliament and India itself. The opposition BJP have called for his head and resignation. People have called him a traitor and agent of Pakistan. Nice to see Indian democracy at work. The truth will be emerging slowly that this was an inside job by Indians, US, UK and Israel. Sooner or later the truth will be revealed

Lazarus, I appreciate your raising the standards of the discussion from your side of the debate. I agree with your assertions on there being extremists in all religions. FYI, there are some violent Buddhists in Sri Lanka. Anyway, getting back to the discussion, while nations breaking up seems to be on the rise in an era of shifting power and fortune, I would point to a united Vietnam and Germany as a successful example of reunification. North Korea, economically on its last legs, will also unite with South Korea in the future. So there are precedents and with the collapse of Communism and now with the apparent collapse of unbridled Capitalism, that leaves the probability of many events occurring that many persons currently think will not take place.

Filmmakers in this hub of Indian cinema are already exploring how to bring the trauma of the deadly three-day siege of Mumbai to the big screen, an industry official said on Thursday. At least 25 titles — including "Taj to Oberoi" and "Mission Taj" have been registered with the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association since the attacks that killed 164 people last month, Anil Nagrath, secretary of the Bollywood trade association, told The Associated Press. Many of the registered titles center around the luxury Oberoi hotel and the Taj Mahal, whose burning dome became of the symbol of the attacks — including "Taj 26," "Taj to Oberoi," "The Taj Encounter," "11/26 Operation Taj," "Mission Taj" and "Mission Oberoi." One proposed project is called "Nariman House" after the Jewish center where the attackers killed a rabbi and his wife, he said by telephone. The Taj, the Oberoi, Nariman House and Mumbai's main train station were among 10 sites in the commercial capital targeted.

Sunny, Ottawa, Canada: I admit that I don’t understand much about Zionism but I agree there are extremist elements, just as there are within Islam & Christianity & any other religion (possible exception being Buddhism, although our friend Sherpa would know more about that than I would). I don’t believe all Zionists are ‘extreme’, just as I don’t believe all Muslims are ‘extreme’. There is corruption in any government as well, so it is not surprising to find corruption in Israel. As for Israel being a ‘criminal’ government, that is open to interpretation & we probably don’t have room in this forum to get into all that. My knowledge of India & Pakistan is even more limited than that of Israel & Palestine but it seems hard to imagine the possibility of a united South Asia, not to mention the united Palestine that you mentioned. There are too many other countries splitting up (Kosovo from Serbia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia from Georgia) to think that those ‘unions’ could take place.

Whether a Brain Drain Secret services agent, who also know about Islam, is not able to convince or motivate some emotional muslim teenagers and lead them successfully to the destination, it seem that MOSAD or RAW(Research and analysis Wing) use Pakistani teritory against India. Indian Bombay drama failed. Inside India, people question some laps or drawbacks of this drama. Look at Indian central Minority Minister Mr AbdulRehman Antoli statement about the suspicious murder of Police Chief Mr KurKury in this Prob.

Lazarus, you may have noticed that my criticism is directed at the Zionist fringe elements and the criminal and corrupt government of Israel. The peace-loving people of Israel are not included in the above. Persons who share your peaceful views should assert more pressure on the Israeli government to conform to humanitarian rights. As far as the situation in South Asia is concerned, India and Pakistan have more in common and a shared history for millennia. The future is for a united South Asia and the South Asian unity will serve as a model for a multi-ethic and multi-religious united state of Palestine from Gaza to the Jordanian border and from Aqaba to the Lebanese border.

When the Pakistan Government says they did not come from there, I would like to know more about the British passports they held, just as I would like to know about the American that ran away after the bomb blasts! Who gets to gain is a relevant question and if the West thinks they have great fans here they are wrong, only your public think of you as Angels of Mercy. Would that include your perception of Mercy Killing of Iraqis and Afghans or isn't that the Muslim World?

The communal riot killings in India, are not only of religious matter, but politicians used them to get power and money in exchange of murder, death and blood. I will give an example: that Narendra Modi Hindutva's poster-boy and long serving chief minister of the most prosperous state in India, Gujarat, killed 2000 poor Muslims to get Hindus vote to be re-elected, and what he did later was the true motive for his work, that is power and money. Mr Mody's drive to clean up part of the state capital Ghandhnagar by demolishing 300 so-called Hindu temples and other poor peoples properties and giving them to the rich investors (who are mostly shia Muslim multi millionaires Ismailya community to build industries) in exchange of money. He played a double game for his own benefit at the cost of the death of 2000 Muslims, forget about the 300 hut like temples destroyed. This is real India.
