The U.S. should not, and CAN NOT allow U.S. military members to be subject to Shi'i Law while aboard military bases. Most Americans do not even understand Shi'i Law and the Uniform Code of Military Justice is beyond sufficient. While outside military bases, THEN...Shi'i law prevails as the countries own standard. American service-women will be forced to wear burka'? the U.S. should just leave entirely. Let Iraq safeguard itself. |

All Americans in Iraq that murder and break their laws should be held liable under Iraq law . They are NOT guest they are intruders. They are not invited they INVADED on lies from the American government. The middle east needs to BAND TOGETHER and force the American murdering machine from THEIR continent. The USA has no HONORABLE reason to be in the mideast killing the people over there. Many many Americans pray that China/Russia confront the USA to bring our soldiers home to our LAND. |

Not so fast Mr. Nick. Tell your government to pay war reparation before it pulls out its mercenaries from Iraq. |

No one said anything about Shi'i Law, it shows how much you know about it in the first place. As "American Patriot" said, they are an invading country and should be subject to Iraq's laws. Iraqs law will not force anyone to wear the Hijab, Iraq is not the Taliban or Saudi Arabia. IF the US chooses to remain, then they should be subject to the same law as everyone else in the country. Iraqs law does not even prohibit drinking alchohol, but cultural respect from the US side would go a long way. |

Reparations? I assume that the billions spent rebuilding the countries antiquated power and transportation systems isn't enough? Iraq, now out from under the thumb of the Ba'ath party will be able to earn trillions of revenue as it will be able to trade freely without embargos against it. I think they will be just fine. |

Because it is a standard SOFA when it comes to troops being tried under the courts of its own nation rather then the nation they are in. |

Why would the US seek immunity from prosecution in Iraq if it were confident in the fact that it's troops are adhering to international law? I think we all know the answer to that question. Over 50 years ago, the Nuremberg trials proved that an army was not above the reach of international law. The US should be no exception. |

Love to know how many americans actually want china or russia to confront US forces. As for honorable reason, that is based upon the cultures honor system. |

This is absurd, if an open plebiscite were taken in both the U.S. and Iraq the overwhelming majority of people would vote for immediate withdrawal of all U.S. and "Coalition" troops (including foreign mercenaries). How many more must die for Bush's feeble minded imperial intransigence to be validated by some absurd pull out date. |

Clearly Bush and crew committed fraud on the American people to sell the Iraqi invasion and occupation. We should get out of Iraq and arrest the group that caused thousands of deaths and billions of dollars loss to America. Amvet |

American invaded Iraq on laws from Bush, so do not put all Americans together, We all have different views, i never wanted to invade iraq to begain with, and think American should pull out as soon as possible. How many more people have to die for no reason. 2011, that makes no sense. That is 3 years for americans to get there. It has been 5 years to many as it is. |

The US should be subject to Iraqi law. They have killed enough Iraqi's and the conditions in Iraq have stabilised thanks to the Mehdi Army cease fire and the Awakeening councils. Such concessions are not needed.
As for Nick. Your ignorance is unfortunate, get off CNN and FOX and read. Most Islamic countries are not governed by Sharia law. The only two in the Middle East that are - are Iran and Saudi, and once upon a time the Taliban. This will mean American soldiers cannot kill civilians |

I have been to Iraq and what is apparent that none of you understand is that we are not fighting and killing the Iraqis. We are helping them to stand up for themselves and defend themselves against their enemies. Their enemies are the bombers that kill inocent Iraqis by the scores. Where is the outrage for those cowardly acts. The true Iraqi patriot understands this and appreciates what we have done. |

If the US hadn't invaded iraq, the Iraqis would have been fine, right now.MASTER 44 says the US is helping Iraqis to bring order in Iraq.As they say in the streets of US"don't start none, there won't be none"the same applies here, the US invaded Iraq and all hell broke loose. The US is to blame for all this murder and mayhem.Steal the Oil and get out.The Iraqis will be fine, even if they kill each other for the next thousand years.US, just fricking leave the region.GET OUT MURDERERS.. |

Ah, only one of you got to the point - Ayub. The Bush administration, in the end, will sign anything necessary just so long as they GET THE OIL CONTRACTS! They don't care if it takes 5 or 10 years for the Iraqis to stop killing each other. Whenever, they'll get the oil rights. That's the point. Protecting GIs who break Iraq laws is just the cover that makes it look legitimate. They'll sign. With Obama, they may even get out. |
