Fighters linked to the Taliban have killed three Pakistani paramilitary soldiers, officials have said.

The soilders were found two days after they were abducted from the Afghanistan border.

A security official on Thursday said the kidnapped soldiers were executed by a firing squad.
Their bodies were dumped near a Pakistani military checkpost in North Waziristan.

"We strongly suspect involvement of the Taliban in the murders," the security official said on condition of annonymity.
Four off-duty paramilitary soilders were kidnapped as they headed home in Razmak, south of the region’s main town Miranshah.

The fate of the fourth trooper is not known.

Separately, the Pakistani army said it has killed five pro-Taliban members after a military convoy was hit by a roadside bomb in the same region.

In another incident, two military personnel were wounded after a bomb blast hit a convoy of the security forces in the same area, officials said.

North and south Waziristan, near the Afghan border, are seen as hotbeds of support for al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters.
