Nato troops die in Afghan attack

A roadside bomb has killed two Nato soldiers on patrol in eastern Afghanistan and left another one injured.

The bomb struck the patrolling unit in the Sharan district of Paktika province, Nato's International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) said.

Isaf did not disclose the nationalities of the soldiers.
At least 21 foreign troops have been killed in Afghanistan this year, according to an AP news wire tally.

In 2007 - the deadliest year since the US-led invasion in 2001 - more than 6,500 people were killed in the continuing conflict, including 222 foreign troops.
Most of the attacks in the country are blamed on a resurgent Taliban.

US-led forces had driven out the group from Kabul in 2001, but the Taliban has reportedly regrouped since then, launching attacks on the current Afghan government and forces supporting it.
