Israeli jets 'enter' Syria airspace

Israeli aircraft have bombed an unidentified target in Syria, according to Syrian media sources.

Syrian media said that there were no casualties from the incident, which occurred on Thursday

Israel declined immediate comment on the allegations.
Initial reports from Syria said its air defences went into action after Israeli jets entered Syrian airspace at dawn on Thursday.
An army spokesman told the official SANA news agency: "Enemy Israeli planes penetrated Syrian air space from the Mediterranean Sea heading towards the northeast, breaking the sound barrier."

He said: "Our air defences forced them to leave ... without causing human or material loss."

Syria and Israel remain technically at a state of war.

Peace talks broke down in 2000 over the fate of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
