Shoe Attack by Iraqi Journalist |

There is freedom of expression for you. Good for Muntadar al-Zeidi! I'm sure there are many around the world whose only disappointment was he missed the U.S. President. The message of contempt is clear though. I'm still chuckling. Rock on, Mr. al-Zeidi!
I hope Mr. al-Zeidi is OK and security forces were not heavy-handed with him. |

Deserves the insult |
Though it is an act of insult and uncultured behaviour, Bush who is repsonsible of propagating world terrorism and being the leading cause of mascre of millions of civilians (especially Muslims) derves this at his last days and should lament on this for his rest of his life for the crimes he has unfloded against humanity in the world. It is not just an act of insult but an expression of the suffering of the innocent people in that country. |

instead of filling it with honor and fame and deserve roses thrown on your face!
one thing president Bush has been mistaken when he siad that that journalist is not presenting the Iraqi people, as he is presenting most of the world. |

You may hate Bush, you may not, you are entitled to your own opinion and to speak it....in this country. Much work has to be done in Iraq to secure liberty for the Iraqi people...but NO ONE can deny this....that al-Zeidi would died a slow and painful death had he done this to Saddam Hussein or any of his visiting dignitaries. I wonder if any news agencies will follow up to make sure this guy isn't dismembered or thrown from a building...or aren't you worried about this anymore in the new IRAQ? |

How Sad H. gased and killed Kurdish men woman and children without cause. I suggest you all view the french documentary Uncle Sadamm. Insulting Dogs by calling Bush one |
I am furious about the fact that the shoe thrower called Bush a dog. A dog is a noble beast that has served man bravely over a period of thousands of years. To call a lying mass murdering war criminal like Bush a dog is insulting to man's best friend, the dog.
To us long haired and bearded northern barbarians the dog is revered, the lord Odin has two wolf hounds Freke and Gere To associate Bush the coward who dodged combat in Vietnam a dog is an insult to dogs. |

The emerald zone was penetrated. The man shouted "this is a goodbye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog," before hurling a shoe at Mr Bush which narrowly missed him.
Showing the soles of shoes to someone is a sign of contempt in Arab culture.
Muntadar al-Zaidi was quickly wrestled to the ground and hauled away. With his second shoe, which the president also managed to dodge, Mr Zaidi
said: "This is for the widows and orphans and all those killed in Iraq."

Freedom of expression, eh? The only man who dared to actually express himself in front of Bush and his minders is now apparently being "questioned", probably the same way they used to "examine" witches down at the village pond. Let's hope this is a sign of the rage Bush will encounter wherever he goes, until the day someone actually throws a citizen's arrest at him. And release that reporter, if you're even serious about appearing to respect freedom of expression. |

I predict new federal warnings soon: All Muslims wearing a pair of shoes are terrorists & to be regarded as armed/legged & dangerous. "Nike Training Shoes" are to be banned because they will be used in militant TRAINING CAMPS. Once trained the "I" can be easily replaced by "U" turning a NIKE into a NUKE. Greetings,
Please note that it is very important to clarify what the Iraqi journalist said I think it is someting like "This is the thanks from all of the Iraqi Widdows and Orphans" ... Clarifying the intent of the Iraqi journalist is very important as it represents the feelings that many have for all of the killings and massacres that Bush has inflected on Iraq and the Iraqi children and women.
Many Thanks

Hurling shoes |
While I'm not surprised at the shoe throwing were there no security, it would have been a bomb Bush's comparing it to "democratic" style protests is like apples and oranges. The two are not the same. Hurling shoes is not the same as hurling words. The shoe thrower would be dealt with heavy-handedly were he to throw at any Prez of any country, democratic or not. I would hope Bush makes the generous comparison because he knows he's guilty of hurling bombs. |

Who needs a new pair of shoes? |

I would gladly buy a new pair of shoes for Muntadar al-Zeidi, as his have mysteriously gone missing. Maybe G.W. will have the old shoes bronzed and put on a plaque on his office wall along with Saddam's pistol that he has so proudly hanging in his office. |

I know exactly how that brave reporter felt, listening to one more round of vicious lies as the Shrub goes off into history. He deserves the American Medal of Freedom, and a nice new, shiny pair of shoes. Thanks, amigo. |

Good for this journalist! Someone had to do it. I love how they are downplaying this here in the US. We, Americans, should be ashamed of ourselves that we did not show as much courage as this Iraqi did towards Bush. Instead we voiced are concerns over the dinner table and did nothing about this dictatorship that has been ruling over the US. This journalist better be released without any marks on him, he was voicing his "freedom" of speech..that's what you get Bush! HA! |

Its a real picture, which reflects the popularity of MR. Bush as a world leader. His war plan is responsible for recent world economical disaster and also for killing thousands of innocent human in Iraq and Afghanistan. He deserved it and must be trialed as war criminals and for genocides. I demand an open judgment for that journalist. |

All 15 articles that Al-Jazeera posted from readers are pro shoe throwing and anti-Bush? Sad! Bush has proved himself the better human being by his reaction to the incident, than the rest of you 15 warped thinkers. I have spent 10 years living in the Middle East and I guarantee you that most Iraqis are ashamed of this journalist. |

Children. This poor excuse for a journalist should be pitied, like most of the people posting here. Ungrateful, childish, and ignorant. We didnt hear these people complain when Saddam was removed. We heard jubilation. Now that the true ineptness of the Iraqi people to govern themselves has been revelaed, they look to others to blame for their failures. If you want America gone, become civilized. Take care of your own country. Protect your own borders. |

Bravo , Well done , ????? ???? .
Yes, he deserves more . Thugs as such should be dismissed with shoes and boots.
How i wished Rice , Blair and Bush were treated the same way in Ramallah. Hope one day justice prevails and they stand as mass muderers in The Hague.
They don't know that they are welcomed only by leaders who Don't represent but themselves. |

Muntadar ai -Zeidi is no doubt a hero. He managed to do what no terroist attack, suicide bomber so far were able to do. A lesson to all - no need to hurl a grenade or fire a bullet, a simple and harmless act of throwing a shoe can achieve better result . Imagine how this will go down on the History book - a 43rd American President was so unpopular that a shoe was thrown at him.... |

There is a time and place for all things. This is a highlight of the Bush era.
He freed Iraq at great cost to the US and himself.
Maybe the US should just pull out, and let Iran run things.
Then we will see if al-Zeidi can embarass his country then.
