Yes, it is a fact that hundreds of civilians have died due to Israel's bombing. However, they were not the intended targets as oppose to Hamas' deliberate targeting of civilians.
With the large amount of tank/artillery shells and aerial bombardment in such a populated area, how come there have been very FEW deaths? Given the arsenal the Israel possess, it could kill ten thousands of arabs within hours without involving ground troops. Conclusion: killing civilians is not Israel's objective. |

There are at least three reasons why force should be used against Israel. First, Israel's attack was an offensive against Palestinian's in Gaza. If the attack was proportional to Hamas' launching of rockets, it could be argued that it was in self-defense, but the destruction of infrastructure and the amount of civilian deaths has been overwhelmingly one sided.
As the attack is an offensive the UN Security Council has the right to authorize the use of force.
