Egyptian sees wisdom and pragmatism in deal  
 

Thirty years ago to the day, Egypt shocked much of the Arab world by signing a peace treaty with Israel, ending three decades of hostilities.

The treaty saw both countries formally recognising each other - paving the way for diplomatic, cultural and economic ties.

Abdel Hamid Mohammed fought in the Arab-Israeli war in 1967.
