Watch part two
The world's third-largest democracy and one of its youngest, is preparing to go to the polls. Indonesia's legislative elections come just 11 years after a student-led revolution forced the resignation of Suharto, the late dictator president, and there is no doubt that democracy remains a work in progress. Members of the Suharto regime still hold top posts in government, and the country's military still has a powerful influence on policy. On this edition of 101 East we ask what next for a democratic Indonesia?
This episode of 101 East aired from Thursday, April 2, 2009.
