101 EAST
Myanmar: After the storm

Watch part two

A year ago, Cyclone Nargis tore through the Irrawaddy Delta region of Myanmar, killing 140,000 people and destroying the homes and livelihoods of survivors.

The humanitarian crisis provided a test case for Myanmar's military rulers and the international community. Could they work together to help the more than one million cyclone victims in desperate need?

In this edition of 101 East, we ask if this co-operation has really helped the people in Myanmar's Delta region - and will it continue considering the ongoing house arrest of Aung San Suu Kyi, the pro-democracy activist?

This episode of 101 East aired from Thursday, May 21, 2009.
