You have to live here in America to understand this whole barack is a muslim, this isn't something the republicans started. The idea behind it is that muslims tend to have stronger feelings of unity with other muslims rather then their fellow nationals. The idea is more of a question of loyalty to americans and whether or not he will only serve muslims rather then the USA as a whole which includes Islam. |

This program is great.
With so much anti-Americanism sentiment all over the world, in Europe, and among Muslims everywhere, it's good that Al-Jazeera shows a program that actually shows reality.
Muslims have it quite well in the US, the US is a country where religions coexist peacefully. Americans don't hate Muslims, it's a very tolerant society where Muslims can succeed and integrate into society, the same cannot be said about the UK or Europe.

If America was as bad as painted in this paper, WHY would any stay? Why? Because America is the BEST country that allows everyone to practice religion of their choosing. What it doesn't allow is teaching hate about other religions, or the inferiority of other religions. Teaching G-d supports killing of other religions differently than killing a Muslim, for example, is a form of hate and this type of thinking is way out of bound. |

This documentary is so powerful, inspirational to so many people and since I start watching I couldn't sleep until the program finished around 5am NZ time and I also went late at University.

Thanks Rageh, I must confess that your program is so far my best documentary in recent times. I learned a lot and I am ashame of my prejudice I had against America towards about Islam. And I also didn't know there was a Muslim among the freed slaves who sail to Liberia nothing of such is mentioned in our history books (I'm Liberian).
Freed slaves who came to Liberia behaved exactly as their former slave masters-treating indigins as they were treated. Liberia's crisis is clear manifestation. |

I work on a US Military installation – Islamic services are posted on the same page of the local paper with Protestant, Catholic and Jewish – complete with dates, times and building numbers. Try doing that in many parts of the world. |

I have no problem with Islam being practiced in America as long as it’s not forced or taught in its fundamental form. I look in disbelief at Islamic demonstrations in Great Britain where they openly advocate overthrowing the Government and establishing an Islamic Theology. Freedom of expression does have its boundaries. Beyond that, advocating the subversion of a culture and its traditional values is very offensive. |

As a Native American, though, this was not always the case for us our religions were outlawed by an Act of Congress from1876 to 1972. In Nashville Tennessee, where I live, everyone gets along. The issue isn't about if he is a muslim, the issue is who is he going to serve or whos interest is he going to put first. Loyalty. Who is he going to be more loyal/willing to serve/please too? Most of the taxi drivers in the US are from west Africa or Islamic nations. They come basically in two types: Muslims and non-Muslims.
If you talk to a Muslim taxi driver you get replies like you see on this comment forum. Now if you talk to non-Muslim taxi drivers from Islamic nations it is an "eye opener" as they say. It is rank hostility towards Islam to out right hatred. No in between. I mean absolutely no in between.

Apostates are killed or put in prison in many Muslim countries. Lot of Muslims have immigrated to US to escape poverty and bad governments. It is sad to see some American Muslims, like American taliban getting involved in terrorism. |

I always thought that Al-Jazeera was fair and objective. The Islam in America Program hosted by Mr. Rageh Omaar was very careful to talk to only those who identify themselves as "American Muslims." There are tens of thousands of Muslims in this country who identify themselves as "Muslims in America." These Muslims see America as the greatest oppressor and imperialist power the world has ever known. |

JFK was attacked for being a Catholic who would take orders from the Pope. If Joe Lieberman had been the candidate for President he would have been attacked by anti-Semites. Now it's Obama with the Muslim accusations. It is ever thus. In politics, opponents will do or say anything. That doesn't mean the candidate can't win. And with each win the culture advances. Ours is a history of two steps forward and one step backward during times of fear and turmoil but we do progress despite our mistakes. |

I love this programme. Be it christians, muslims, jews or any other religion in this world it doesnt matter because we are all human beings. Once we all start to understand each other's religions and respect their values and beliefs, the world will most definitely be a better place to live in.. |

I watch this program both parts and I must give all praises to Allah for our brother Raqeh. I am an American Muslim born & raise in Brooklyn, NY. I took my shahada under the leadership of Imam W. Deen Mohammed PBUH. Yes I have practice Islam in America for thirty plus years and love it. America is the place for Islam because all the freedoms that is in the Holy Qur'an can be practice and lived in peace only in America. Women especially must live Islam in America.
