This has been the best journalistic work I have seen in a long, long time. Deep, inteligent and corageous.
While most main stream media news stories only try to reinforce our preconceptions, Aljazeera goes further and opens up new horizons. I started watching the story with an opinion and ended with a new one, hence wiser.
This is what I expect of Aljazeera, the ability to cross borders and make us understand each other a little better.

Mirette, we all already know the America which is filled with islamophobia and hatred towards muslims.
This programme shows the other side of it. The side which is about the mutual understanding between muslims and non-muslims, the hope of successful integration of muslims into American community, as well as the devotion and patriotism of muslims towards their new homeland.
The documentary talks about real people and real events. It is very informative, especially for non-muslim americans. |

Interesting piece of American propaganda, totally and completely lacking balance, painting a rosy picture when Moslem university professors are thrown in jail for years with no access to legal representation. Very strange that Al-Jazeera would promote such an unrealistic picture. The question is "Why"? |

I've found this report about Islam in America, very interesting and I'd like to thank the journalist Rageh Omaar for it. I've learnt a lot about the way muslims live in America. There is a deep relationship between American Muslims and America. All I want to say is: don't be afraid of Islam! Those who kill themselves as well as inocent people are not muslims! |

Dont say 9/11 was done by Muslims without independent investigation. It is an insidere job by neocons headed by dick cheney. Let them investigate independently and expose the truth. All this Muslim did it and subsequent pre planned media coverage will not take anywhere. Why do we Muslim takes the blame when it was an insider job all criminal are insider - dick cheney and the team.

i took my hat off for aljazeera, i dont know if i am dreaming or its real, all i want say is "thank you qatar". its shows you what a great leadership can contribute to the world especially muslim world. we need free speach and democracy in muslim world, well i think i know were my holiday destination this christamas coming would be! were else Qatar!. ticket form london to doha insha'alah. i have watched too many aljazeera tv programes,time to see this democratic country and its people. |

This programme tells that Islam is a universal faith that that does not belong to a certain race or geographical location.

it was one of the best documentaries i've ever seen, esp by my dear Rage Omaar! in fact i always watch Witness. i find them very interesting, but this programme was different. it's good that people with different religions can live side by side even in America. thanks Aljazeera! u r my favourite channel. i m looking forward to watching new & efficient programmes of this kind. my special thanks to Rage! |

in america religion is personal. and that includes islam. this is a country where you can remake yourself into anything you want. americans have a very short memory and islam will take a back seat soon when the u.s. finds a new enemy. moslems here will come up with the new islam compatible with progressive moslems' realities. christians did it here. this new version of islam will eventually be ready for export to the world just like any other american product. only in america:) |

This programme - Islam in America - was really amazing. Though Rageh has looked on the positive side only, it was better to highlight the opposite side too, because we hear everyday that many Muslims have been hurt and tortured in America. The obstacles that Muslims in America could face would have been the best part to broadcast. However, I can say it was a really good beginning. I hope we see Muslims in other European countries. |

Great work! I know several viewers pointed out how the show emphasized the positive in America. This is true, just as it emphasized the positive in Islamic communities. And justifiably so, in both cases. Americans and Muslims both have our fringe bigots, crazies, and ultra-conservatives. But the vast majority of Americans- as with Muslims- are decent, honest, generous people who want the world to like them, not fear them. May Mr. Obama usher in a new era of justice, healing, and mutual goodwill. |
