A Serb minority in Kosovo has set up its own parliament in the divided city of Mitrovica.
The move is seen by many as a blow to the authority of the Albanian leadership of Kosovo.
Deemed as illegal by the Kosovan government and the UN, this parliament will have no authority, but reflects a deepening ethnic partition in Europe's newest country.
In February, Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia.
Serbia and its ally Russia strongly opposed this move but the West threw its support behind the new-born country, with a number of powerful countries recognising it.
Inside Story, with presenter David Foster, discusses the rising tension in Kosovo and its ramifications for its future stability.
