Watch part two
Almost 15 years after apartheid one thing has certainly not changed in South Africa. Skin colour is highly political, it is still not just a natural matter of complexion in the so-called 'Rainbow-Nation'.
Skin colour in this country is about power. It can be used to get a job, as a tool to gain political or economic power, to discredit someone and even to incite mob violence and murder.
But South Africa would not be South Africa if it were a simple problem between these groups. Dozens of Somali refugees have been killed by their black South African brothers. Immigrants from other African countries are regularly being hunted and chased through the streets by xenophobic South Africans.
South Africans are obsessed with colour and race. This film lets all sides explain the absurdities of living with their skin colour in the so-called 'new' South Africa.
This episode of People & Power aired from September 23, 2008.
