Twins, Suresh and Jyoti Guptara, wrote The Conspiracy of Calaspia, when they were 11 years old |
Becoming a best-selling author is the dream of every writer and one that often involves a lot of rejection and frustration. That was the case for two writers who spent six years re-working the piece they had crafted together, until finally it hit book stores and became an international best-seller. By then the co-writers, who happened to be twins, were 17 years old, putting them among the youngest best-selling authors in the world.
Suresh and Jyoti Guptara actually finished the first draft of their critically-acclaimed fantasy novel, The Conspiracy of Calaspia at the tender age of 11, but went through six years of re-writing and touting their work.
The Conspiracy of Calaspia is book one of the epic series The Insanity Saga, which deals with a number of themes, repeatedly playing with perspective and truth, body and soul, illusion and reality.
On Monday, Riz speaks to Suresh and Jyoti Guptara about their experiences as successful young writers.
