Does Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?

Barack Obama, the US president, has been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy". But after less than a year in office does the US president deserve the award? Is the decision a clever political move by the Nobel committee? Will it help or hinder Obama's presidency?
